Man Utd transfer news: Solskjaer confirms number of signings in summer window

Man Utd transfer news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that the club would see a major overhaul in the upcoming transfer windows.

Manchester United have had a tough few weeks. Ever since their win at Parc des Princes against PSG, the side’s form has only gone downhill.

Solskjaer’s men were knocked out of the FA Cup and the Champions League, and slipped to the sixth position in the Premier League.

There have been calls for a major squad overhaul by the fans and experts alike. The performances of various players in the team have been underwhelming and Solskjaer has confirmed that the process of bringing new players will begin in the upcoming transfer window.

He also stated the number of signings to be made in the summer.

Man Utd transfer news: How many summer transfers, Ole?

The general consensus on social media suggests that a major part of Manchester United squad should be churned out to make way for new signings. And it seems like Solskjaer and his team are observing the conversations on the social platforms.

Talking about the changes in the summer transfer window, Solskjaer said that the club is not in a position to look for a quick-fix.

“We plan to be in the top four, we plan to be in the Champions League next season and we want players who can keep us in the Champions League and move us up the table,” Solskjaer said.

“But we know there is not going to be a quick fix. We have to take it step by step.”

The Norwegian manager also confirmed that there cannot be a massive overhaul in a single window, referring to people vouching for six signings in the summer.

“There will be new players coming in over summer but I don’t think you can expect six. I don’t think any manager you ask would be in favour of that amount of change anyway,” Solskjaer said.

“We want to rebuild but it is going to have to be gradual, over a few windows.”
