Manchester United News: Former Man Utd manager Van Gaal takes a dig at Ed Woodward

Manchester United News: Fomer Man Utd manager Louis Van Gaal takes a dig at the Ed wodward amid summer transfer window struggles.

Manchester United have constantly changed managers but their fate remained same as the club is going downhill ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013.

Louis Van Gaal, who took the charge over the club in 2014, and spent two and a half years with the Red Devils, took a dig at the Vice President of the club, while questioning the ability of the club’s board to hire the desired players.

The Dutch manager believe that he had a tough time at the Old Trafford and expected things before coming to the club, which were never fulfilled. In an interview with the Guardian, he talked about his problems and targeted the club’s administration.

“The problem begins with, of course, that Manchester United was never refreshed,” the 67-year-old told the Guardian. I think when you are a manager you have to refresh every year to keep the team-building process going.”

Van Gaal added on his transfer frustrations: “I didn’t always get the players that I want. That’s the problem.”

“There is [Ed] Woodward and his right hand is [head of corporate development] Matt Judge. Judge I met once in a while but not too much. And there was the head of scouting. That was the structure but you are always dependent on Woodward and Judge.

“I thought always Manchester United can buy every player because they have a lot of power. Seemingly a few players were not reachable for Manchester United. I cannot understand but it was like that.”

Even though, Van Gaal showed his frustration for the Red Devils, but he still does not regret his time in England and loved his stay in Manchester United.

“No. The way they sacked me was terrible. But I like my time in England, because of the culture, because of the people. A lot of humour and always supporting the manager. I have respect for everybody I worked with.”

Manchester United are in the market to bolster their squad ahead of the next season. However, facing difficulties in landing desired targets due to absence of the Champions league next season.
