Manchester United pink kit: The club is set to launch new third kit on Tuesday at the Adidas store in Manchester’s City Centre.
Reports from multiple sources confirm that Manchester United’s new away kit for the 2018-19 season will be unveiled at an Adidas store in Manchester’s City Centre on Tuesday.
The away kit will have a different colour this time around from the previous seasons, with a ‘pink’ base being used by Adidas for the new season’s kit.
Footy Headlines showed the first leaked image of the away kit of Manchester United earlier this season, and it seems to be the one that will be unveiled by Adidas on Tuesday.
There are plenty of inspirations that may have led Adidas to bring up a new ‘pink’ kit for the Red Devils, including many obvious feminine reasons.
However, sources claim that the now defunct ‘football pink’ news section of the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N) is the main reason behind Adidas making the pink away kit.
The Manchester Evening News released the ‘football pink’ section on a piece of pink paper after every Saturday game and was available to all United and City fans. The turn-out for the new section was great, with fans flocking in to purchase the new outlet which was printed on light pink paper.
In 2000, M.E.N switched the ‘football pink’ section to Sundays, after the Saturday edition had seen a sharp decline in sales due to various other substitutes available after the start of the 21st century.
Eventually after seven years, M.E.N ceased the publication of the historic ‘football pink’ paper in 2007.
Coming back to the gorgeous kit, there has been a positive response to the new kit that the Red Devils will don for their away games this season, with many fans falling in love with the design and unique colour of the kit.
Adidas has been known to produce whooping away kits for Manchester United over the past few years, but it looks like the sports mega-company has stepped up a notch to produce probably the best kit in the Premier League this time around.
