Manchester United Transfer News: Solskjaer to complete second signing of the Summer Transfer Window

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keeping an eye on Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff.

Manchester United are preparing a bid worth £25 million for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has iterated his method and has said that he would bring in young and British players. The Red Devils have already announced the signing of Daniel James from Swansea City and could buy at least two players in this window.

According to the English publication Mirror, the record Premier League Champions are readying a £25 million for Sean Longstaff. The midfielder made his debut under the management of Rafa Benitez, however, things could change if the Spaniard decides to leave.

As of now, the former Liverpool manager has not put pen to paper with the Magpies. The manager’s contract runs down on July 1 and this could determine the future of the youngster, even though he pledged his future to Newcastle by signing a new contract.

Sean Longstaff has featured only 10 games for the English side last season and became an integral player in the midfield before injuring his knee. United are moving in the way of signing of young players, in spite of the exorbitant fees as they believe about the important phase by nurturing them.

The English International is highly regarded, but it is not sure if the Old Trafford faithful welcome him with open arms. But, the board are eyeing to stabilize the club and desire to finish in the Champions League next season.

The Red Devils are also in the front pages for Matthijs De Ligt and Harry Maguire. 40 million bid for Aaron Wan Bissaka was turned down by the club. They are not put off by their price tag as Solskjaer is readying yet another bid to lure him to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are expected to sign at least two to three players in this window. The squad needs strengthening and Solskjaer is working on that aspect to help them with the much-needed Champions League Qualification in the upcoming season.
