Matthijs De Ligt Transfer News: Real Madrid to rival Barcelona for Ajax Skipper in summer transfer window

Real Madrid are reportedly planning to bid for Matthijs De Ligt in the summer transfer window.

Matthijs De Ligt is attracting interest from every corner of Europe. The Ajax Skipper is one of the wanted prospects in the continent by proving himself with his boyhood club over the last few years. The Dutch International was close to joining Barcelona, but his agent Mino Raiola is demanding huge compensation fees which do not content the board.

Bayern Munich and Juventus are the other two sides to fix their eyes on the defender. The German and Italian duo are trying to prise him away by awarding him huge money. The 19-year-old has already reiterated that he would join a footballing project over financial glamour. He is striving to improve his game by putting the supplement factor to bed.

However, Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation. In a recent interview, Florentino Perez confirmed about Sergio Ramos’ intention to leave the record Champions holders to Chinese Super League.

Should the Spanish International have a thought process to move elsewhere, Matthijs De Ligt fits the bill to perfection. Like Ramos, De Ligt would also move to Santiago Bernabeu in the teenage. The Dutch International’s arrival will depend on Sergio Ramos’ future at Real Madrid.

PSG are the other side pursuing Matthijs De Ligt and prepare a bid for him. The French side are also prepared to meet the demands of Ajax and the player himself to lure him to Parc Des Princes.

There were several reports quoting about Manchester United’s interest on the player, but they believe that the player is heading to Nou Camp. The Red Devils are desperate for a center-back and this transfer would make perfect sense as he has age in his side.

De Ligt’s future will not be decided until the completion of the UEFA Nations League which concludes on June 9.
