Neymar claims Real Madrid defender is the best player he ever faced

Neymar says that Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is the best player he ever faced, citing his football skills and characteristic qualities.

Neymar has recently been on headlines after his transfer saga has been fueled after falling out with the hierarchy at PSG, as the Brazilian International wishes to make a return at Barcelona.

Living in his past days at the Catalan club, Neymar has again made into the headlines after surprisingly naming his previous rival – Sergio Ramos, as the best player he ever faced.

In a Q&A to promote his ‘Neymar Jr’s Five’ tournament – which he has plenty of time for, of course, because he hasn’t been turning up to PSG training – he was quoted by Goal:

“The best player I’ve faced? Sergio Ramos. Because he’s an excellent central defender and what’s more, he scores goals. He’s very difficult to play against.” he further said.

Neymar has met Sergio Ramos nine times in previous encounters, and have won four, lost four, and drew one. It came as a shock, as the Brazilian International has faced one of the best players to ever grace the game, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Although, since Neymar is himself is a forward, it is quite understood that Ramos is one of the toughest opponents to confront, with his defensive skills and physically rough game.

The 27-year-old also had kind words for compatriot Vinicius Junior, who many expect to enjoy a breakthrough season at Real despite being named officially in their Castilla squad.

“Vinicius Jr, he’s super young and while he may have many years ahead of him, I think he will become an incredible player. He’ll become one of the best, he’ll compete for the Ballon d’Or. I hope he gets everything he wants.”

As of now, the uncertainty in Neymar’s future is yet to be resolved, with the player adamant to leave Les Parisiens this summer.
