Mourinho to sell Bailly and Rojo

The latest reports from England pin Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to sell Bailly and Rojo in January transfer window.

Manchester United were outclassed at Etihad Stadium by a much-superior City side on Sunday night, as Mourinho’s men lost 3-1.

Pep Guardiola’s side regained the top position in the Premier League with the win, and is now two points clear of the second-placed Liverpool. Manchester United, meanwhile, struggle at 8th position, behind Bournemouth and Watford, whom they have beaten earlier in the season.

Moreover, Jose Mourinho’s team is the only side to have a negative goal difference in the top-10. (-1)

There have been issues in defence for Manchester United, and Eric Bailly fell out of favour early in the season after disappointing performances, and a few game-changing mistakes.

It is now been reported that Mourinho has lost his patience with his defensive duo and is ready to bring fresh reinforcements in January.

Mourinho to sell Bailly and Rojo:

Manchester United have been facing a defensive crisis for a few seasons now. The inconsistencies in the defence have been apparent over the years, and a lack of investment in the summer has inflated the issues for Mourinho.

It came to such an extent this season that the Portuguese manager was forced to use Scott McTominay in the defence this season.

However, it is now being reported by Telegraph that Jose Mourinho has decided to part ways with United’s defensive duo of Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo.

Eric Bailly played poorly in the opening few games of the season and eventually lost his place in the side. Rojo, meanwhile, is yet to make a single appearance this season after picking up an injury during the World Cup in Russia.

According to the report, Mourinho will sell Bailly and Rojo to make space for a new signing in central defence.

Eric Bailly arrived at Manchester United in 2016 and impressed the Old Trafford faithful in his first season. However, his second season at the club was marred with injuries. Marcos Rojo, on the other hand, was linked with a move away from United earlier in the summer, despite having signed a new contract in March this year.
