India were tottering at 29/7 before Dhoni took control of proceedings. The Ranchi man scored a brilliant 65 as he took India to a score beyond 100.
While his innings was not enough to win the match, Dhoni gave us a timely reminder of his enormous value to the side.
Now he is in a unique position as he can become the fourth fastest batsman to reach 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.
Dhoni requires 109 more runs to reach this amazing milestone and will be the fourth Indian after Sachin, Saurav and Dravid to do so.
With India missing Kohli in the ongoing series, Dhoni will be required to shoulder extra responsibility in a relatively inexperienced team.
Rohit will be the skipper and will need his former skipper to help him out in the field.
All eyes will now turn to Mahi in Mohali!
