Fans in India have a unique way of showing their love and respect for the players whom they admire and one such ardent fan of MS Dhoni is Pranav Jain from Bangalore.
On July 7, Mahi turned 37 years old and Pranav didn’t miss the chance to show his appreciation for his hero on this special occasion. In fact, he has now met Dhoni so many times, that the former captain could recognize Pranav in the crowd during the matches.
During the last month when Dhoni was in Bangalore to complete the Yo-Yo test before the England tour, Pranav was present there to gift him two cans of his favorite tea on his birthday.
“On the first day, he was practicing at the National Cricket Academy. I met him after that and we casually spoke for a little while about his birthday for around 5 to 10 minutes. I got a couple of photographs,” Pranav had told The New Indian Express.
“When he was on his way back to his hotel, I met him. I told him that there were only three weeks left. He replied Kai ke liye (what for). I said it’s ‘someone’s birthday’. He then said chal hat, ek saal aur buddha (one more year older). The people near me heard this and started laughing,” he said.
On the next day, Pranav gifted the special tea to Dhoni. He knew that Dhoni liked the tea because he had order the tea a couple of times in the past.
“When he saw me with the cans, he said, ab chai ke badle pachas autograph lega (now in exchange for the tea, will you take 50 autographs?). I told him I just wanted two for now and the rest of 48, I will take later,” Pranav added.
MS Dhoni’s attitude, work ethics and passion have surely made him a popular face among the people in India and his fan-following has been growing in number with each passing day.
