Curry’s deep shooting range attracts defenders to guard him as soon as he crosses the half-court line. Effortlessly putting up 100 three-pointers in a row in practice, finishing seasons with 400+ three-pointers, Curry has managed to virtually hold all the three-pointer records.
One thing that his opponents and millions around the world would want to know – how does he manage to shoot the ball so consistently? Recently, the 2-time three-point contest winner revealed his secrets on having the best shooting skills in the world. The former unanimous MVP stated gave most of the credits to having a good balance. The 7-time All-Star explained:
“It’s all about balance. Everybody gets to it differently, but when you’re in balance, and you got a good foundation underneath you, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re square to the basket, but your feet are underneath you. You have the rhythm and strength to push off the floor and get into your shot. That’s the most important thing.”
“Usually my shots go haywire when my feet aren’t underneath me”: Stephen Curry
With 2,730 career three-pointers, Chef Curry is only trailing Celtics legend Ray Allen as the number one on the all-time three-point list. On Wednesday night, Curry had yet another incredible performance against the Thunder. Knocking down 11 three-pointers, Steph managed to score 42 points in just 29 minutes.
As he had yet another impressive shooting game, Curry now holds the most number of games with 10+ three-pointers in NBA history with 18 such performances. The player trailing him on the list is his own “Splash Brother” Klay Thompson with only 5.
Steph and Klay have the top 2 records of most games made with 10+ 3-pointers in NBA History:

What Curry is able to showcase, night in and night out is an outcome of the uncountable number of hours he’s put in the gym, perfecting the art of shooting the ball. Stephen continued to explain:
“Usually, when my shot goes haywire, my feet aren’t underneath me, and you’re not able to get rhythm from the ground up. Everybody gets to it differently, but that’s the biggest consistent thing that you need to shoot the ball at a high level.”
Now that the greatest shooter of all time has revealed his secrets, many fellow players and upcoming talents will take note of it and work on their balance.
