LeBron James says that Anthony Davis needs to play like himself more so as to win Game 2 for the Lakers against the Phoenix Suns.
The Phoenix Suns seem to have embraced the fact that they’re considered the underdogs in a series where they’re the higher seed. Understandably so as the series is against the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers which boasts LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the frontcourt. the Suns dusted off any rust that may have collected during their near week long break from play and went at the LakeShow from the start of the 1st quarter.

Despite suffering some major blows to the lineup such as Chris Paul’s momentary exit from the game due to a right shoulder injury and Cameron Payne’s ejection, Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton put Phoenix on their backs, carrying them to their first Playoff win in 11 years.
The Suns, mainly DeAndre Ayton, did an incredible job at locking up Anthony Davis for the duration of the bout as he posted up a measly 13 points on 31% shooting from the field. When asked about his performance, Davis said, “I missed a ton of shots. There’s no way we’re winning a game, let alone a series with me playing the way I played. So this one is on me, I take full responsibility for sure.”
LeBron James urges Anthony Davis to play more like his past, All-NBA self.
LeBron James wasn’t looking particularly spry when on the court either as he was not all too attentive when on the defensive end of the floor. He did end up with a double double, notching 18 points and assists on 46% shooting.
He was questioned on AD’s comments early on, to which he replied, “It’s always just AD being AD. Anytime he comes to the press and tells you guys that we can’t win with him playing the way he played, he always responds, so I’m looking forward to that. When AD is AD, then we’re the Lakers.”
The Los Angeles Lakers in familiar territory as they lost the first game of both the first and second round of the Playoffs in the Bubble. LeBron James and his squad would end up taking the next 4 games straight.
