Anthony Davis, Who Passed Dennis Rodman on All-time Playoffs Blocks, Out-blocked Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Entire Grizzlies Squad

After leading the charge to make a route for the Los Angeles Lakers to come off as the 7th seed into the Playoffs, Anthony Davis brought his sublime form throughout the first round. Especially on the defensive side of the ball game.

The man has proven himself to be the best defender in the league playing against the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, Jaren Jackson Jr., who was nowhere near AD in the 6 game series.

However, he was not the only one The Brow left in the dust after his 16 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 block party against the Grizzlies in Game 6.

Anthony Davis out-blocked the entire Grizzlies team and Dennis Rodman in the Playoffs

The Friday night outing was a special one for the 8x All-Star. He did not just lead the Lakers to the next round with his dominant performance, with 5 spikes in the night, Davis took his tally of blocks to 29 for the series, which was 17 more than Jackson and 8 more than the entire Grizzlies team.

Insane. But it didn’t stop there. He also took over Dennis Rodman on the all-time list of most blocks in the Playoffs according to FanNation.

How Davis is truly embracing his role as a Center?

The 6ft 11′ former Pelicans forward was firm in his beliefs of not playing the role of a center but more a wing who can do it all. As there are only a few big men like Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Wilt Chamberlain through which their team’s offense ran through.

Even Shaquille O’Neal throughout his career had to make it a point to the coaching staff and his teammates to not forget him in each play of the ball game much like a point guard.

And despite the suggestions of everyone, including Shaq, Davis kept ducking the chance to play and embrace the role of a big man.

Now that finally James and coach Darvin Hame made it clear that the team’s offense would run through Davis at the start of the 2022-23 season, he has been playing the 5 like nobody else on good days.
