NBA Stat Shows Draymond Green Beating Michael Jordan in ‘Most Wins in a Season’ Category
Over the years, there have been many great teams in the NBA. However, two of the greatest were perhaps the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls and the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors. Led by Michael Jordan, the Bulls set the record for most wins in a single season back in 1996, ending with a record of 72-10. Exactly 20 years later, the Golden State Warriors would actually break the record previously held by the Bulls, ending the 2015-16 season with a staggering record of 73-9.
The feat by the Warriors has allowed their star Draymond Green to surpass MJ in a record that will surprise many.
A recent Twitter post shared by NBA World revealed that Draymond Green, quite surprisingly, has more wins in a single season than the great winner, Michael Jordan. With 88 wins in the 2015-16 season, Green is the player with the most wins in a single season in NBA history.
The Dubs forward has surpassed both MJ and his own team’s head coach, Steve Kerr by one game. Both Jordan and Kerr sit just below Green with 87 wins.

It must seem like a weird stat, considering wins are never an individual accomplishment but a team effort. However, Green’s 88-win stat shows his consistency and durability playing for his team. The Warriors won 88 games in 2015-16, 73 in the regular season and 15 in the postseason. Green played in all of them and tallied the record.
On the other hand, the 1995-96 Bulls also tallied 88 wins in 1995-96, 72 in the regular season and 16 in the postseason. However, Kerr and Jordan missed out on one win, which gave Green the advantage.
However, MJ will not be bothered with losing to Green in the record for most wins in a single season. The reason is pretty simple. The Bulls won the chip in 1996, but Green and Steph Curry’s Warriors couldn’t in 2016.
However, it must be added that seven years ago, when it became apparent that the Dubs would break the record for most wins, Jordan approached Green. Speaking to MJ during the All-Star break in 2016, Green received some words of encouragement from the Bulls legend.
Aware of the inevitable, the six-time NBA Champion told Draymond that the Dubs should go for it, and break the record he set with the Bulls back in 1996.
