The wait is over. The long-awaited 2021 NBA Draft is here. At 8 PM ET, 60 players would be assigned their new teams for the upcoming seasons. There are quite a few head-turning athletes in this year’s draft, and it should be interesting to see which team snatches them up. While Cade Cunningham is widely expected to be the top pick, there are quite a few other athletes who can snatch the spot too. There is Jalen Green, Jalen Suggs, Evan Mobley, and Scottie Barnes.

The 2021 Draft is happening just 10 months after the 2020 Draft. Due to COVID 19 and the bubble, the draft last season was pushed to November, but this year it’s back to being in July. This return to normalcy should give the draft picks enough time to work with their coaches and team before the season.

Cade Cunningham signs a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike

Cade Cunningham has a really great story to share. From getting just one offer for college, Cunningham proved his worth and is now a projected #1 draft pick. The Cowboys star wrapped up his lone season in college as a Big 12 Player of the Year, and an All-American.

The 2020 Draft class saw the majority of the rookies play an entire season without signing a shoe deal. COVID 19 may have impacted the rookies last season, but the same isn’t the case this season. The projected #1 pick joins Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and many more as a Nike athlete.

A major reason Cade chose Nike was that he has a long appreciation for the brand. “More than anything, they show that athletes are more than just athletes. They really put the right message out for people to see. That was important to me. … I felt like it was a perfect match for me.”

With the draft just hours away, it should be interesting to see what the future holds for the young star.
