Dennis Rodman has always shown up in places that you would least expect him to. When it comes to getting his name in the tabloids, Rodman is quite the savant. He’s been on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ with Donald Trump, befriended Kim Jong-Un, and is now appearing on a reality TV show on VH1.

Despite earning close to $30 million from his NBA contracts over a 14 year career, he’s almost always been in debt due to his extravagant lifestyle. Parties and women in all parts of the country, during the season and in the offseason have led him down a path of little to no return.
So, in an attempt to bring in a bit more passive income, he delved down the ‘restaurant’ path of things. He opened up his own seafood restaurant named Josh Scolum’s in the early 2000s near his Newport beach house. Unfortunately for him, this endeavor of his was marred with setbacks and legal battles.

Dennis Rodman was called out by his busboy for not paying him $2,000
Rodman’s idea for having his own restaurant didn’t pan out all too well. He would be arrested in January of 2002 for refusing to let the police enter the establishment after they realized there were cars still parked outside after 2:40am. As rule, serving alcohol is banned after 2am.
The restaurant would also suffer a major loss in finances after a supposed electrical fire broke out, leading to $100,000 in damages. To add insult to injury, Rodman would then also get called out a couple years later by a former busboy of his, Jose Cruz Morales, for not paying him a total of $2,015 in backpay.
He had reportedly worked overtime on numerous occasions and had not been compensated fairly for any of it. The way he was fired saw him have several foul words directed towards him from Dennis Rodman himself.
“I could basically come into the restaurant and take possession of $2,000 worth of beer, Crystal, steaks, shrimp, whatever they have that’s worth $2,000,” said Morales on what he could do to finally have his money back.
Dennis Rodman couldn’t pay his ex-wife child or spousal support
After being taken to court by ex-wife, Michelle Moyer, Dennis Rodman was ordered to pay her $850,000 in child and spousal support.
The simple reasoning behind why he couldn’t pay her was that he had made too many financial mistakes up until that point due to his alcoholism and so, wouldn’t be able to pay her back.
