The summer of 2019 was a good one for the city of Los Angeles. After years of not having solid representation in the NBA, they suddenly had two teams that could compete for the title. The Los Angeles Lakers ended up winning the championship, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Los Angeles Clippers blew a 3-1 lead and missed yet another chance to make their first-ever Conference Finals.
However, before the playoffs began, the Clippers and the Lakers were heavy favorites to make it to the WCF, and battle it out. The Denver Nuggets rose and played at a high level, declining us of the chance to witness the Battle of LA at the highest level.

Two years ago was a joyful time not only for LA but also for the two organizations. After years of being treated like jokes, the Clippers were ready to make a mark, with the addition of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The two put up a video, where they’re saying “Don’t talk to us!” in a very hype mood. The two even believed that they had a sure shot at the ring that year.

However, things did not go as planned. The Clippers crashed and burnt in the 2020 playoffs. They then traded Lou Williams to acquire Rajon Rondo at the trade deadline last season. They got to the Western Conference Finals last season, but couldn’t go past the Phoenix Suns with an injured Kawhi Leonard.
Last night, they traded away Patrick Beverly too. They sent Pat Bev, Rajon Rondo, and Daniel Otaru to the Memphis Grizzlies for Eric Bledsoe.

Well, let’s just say that NBA Twitter dug out this old clip to sit and have a laugh at the player’s expenses. It would be interesting to see whether the Grizzlies hold on to Pat Bev and Rondo, considering the number of guards they already have.
