“Draymond Green Really Thinks He’s Michael Jordan”: NBA Twitter Roasts ‘Podcaster’ Following His ‘I’m Back’ Message

Draymond Green is undoubtedly one of the smartest players to have played in the NBA in this 21st century. As a frontcourt player, his basketball IQ is as good as any floor general like Chris Paul, Ja Morant, and LeBron James. The Golden State Warriors have fed off of his ability to read plays on both ends before they even happen.

Along with the fact that Green is an experienced veteran in the NBA, he’s also an incredibly accomplished man as well. He’s been at the focal point of a defense that won 4 championships in 8 years and due to these achievements, he’s garnered a ton of respect from players across the league.

So, it would make sense that someone like him would be able to pull off a podcast centered around him talking about basketball. He began ‘The Draymond Green Show’ with Colin Cowherd’s network ‘The Volume’ but has not released an episode in close to half a year.

Draymond Green gets roasted for the way he announced his return

Draymond Green, after taking a 5-month long hiatus from podcasting, took to Twitter to write a simple message: “I’m back”. He did give a lot of context prior to the two words, confirming that he is returning to host his own podcast again.

This was obviously an homage to the time Michael Jordan sent out a fax that read those same exact two words upon returning to the Chicago Bulls in 1995 from his stint with the Birmingham Barons. However, Twitter, didn’t let up on the former DPOY. They goat at him for trying to imitate the 6x champion.

If you’re going to pay homage to the greatest player of all time, perhaps you should do it on the court and not for a podcast. Jordan’s ‘I’m back’ was more impactful because it came without context. Everybody knew what he meant but he didn’t write a paragraph explaining it prior to writing those two iconic words.

Draymond Green officially returns to podcasting

Draymond Green has released a small preview of what his first episode back from his hiatus is going to look like. He seems to be talking about Ja Morant’s ‘I’m fine in the West’ comments and also addressing his altercation with Jordan Poole from this past training camp.

Green has always been candid about his experiences in the league, calling a spade a spade, so having him back in the realm of podcasting is quite refreshing to say the least.
