“I got 4 more than Charles Barkley, that’s all I care about”: Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal hilariously creates another ‘Rings, Ernie!’ moment
Shaquille O’Neal pounced on his latest opportunity to diss dear friend Charles Barkley. He said he’s glad to have 4 more titles than Chuck.
Through a distinguished 19-year career in the NBA, Shaq made the All Star game 15 times. He was a force of nature during his first 13 seasons in the league. In the 3-year span that the Lakers threepeated, Shaq has an argument as the most dominant player of all time.
Such was his fame, such were his accolades and such was his unstoppable game that Shaq has entered the collective conscious. He’s cultivated a ‘fun uncle’ image as well as any retired sportsperson. In addition, Shaq has a net worth of over $400 million, which means he’s winning off the court too.
After his on-court career, Shaq continues to stay associated with the game of basketball. As an analyst on TNT’s Inside the NBA alongside Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson, he’s also won several primetime Emmys.
Shaquille O’Neal gloats about having 4 more rings than Charles Barkley
Appearing on the All Things Covered podcast, Shaq spoke about his experience of winning 4 championships. Although he hopped around from team to team at the end of his career, he had a highly satisfactory career overall.
Shaq says he’s thankful to be able to win just one championship, since Barkley has none:
“I’m just glad that I was able to get 4. Wanted to get 5, wanted to get 6, but 4 is pretty good. I got 4 more than Charles Barkley, that’s all I care about.”
“This is a moment for a lot of kids that think they can’t make it”
Shaq made his opinions on Rudy Gobert’s new $200m contract VERY CLEAR on @ATCoveredPod.

Shaq and Chuck once had an on-court bustup with each other in 1999. It was so bad, the rivalry between them, that their mothers had to intervene. They publicly apologized to each other and their mothers for their insolence, and have famously gotten along like the best of chums.
