"I try to stay away from all the noise": Lonzo Ball responds to rumors of Pelicans trading him to the Warriors for Kelly Oubre with his best performance of 2021

Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball reacts to rumors of a trade to the Warriors by putting up season-high numbers in a win against the Bucks.

Over the course of the past couple of days, there have been a lot of rumors on the NBA trade-mill. There have been multiple possible trade destinations for Bradley Beal highlighted. Along with Beal, the NBA trade market is also hot for one of the Ball brothers.

The word around the NBA trade market is that the eldest Ball brother, Lonzo Ball is up for grabs, along with sharpshooter JJ Redick. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Pelicans are willing to entertain offers for Lonzo Ball and JJ Redick.

The New Orleans Pelicans beat former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks last night. The Pelicans came out on a mission, as they scored 35 points in the opening frame itself. Brandon Ingram led the way with 28 points and 4 assists. Lonzo Ball scored a season-high 27 points while shooting 7/13 from the deep, tying his career-high in 3s made in a game. Zion Williamson scored 21 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished 7 assists. Former Bucks’ guard Eric Bledsoe also added 25 points to beat his former team.

After the match, Lonzo talked to the reporters, and said,

“I just stay the course. I’ve been playing basketball for a long time. I put a lot of work in and just try to play my game. That’s how I play. I just try to stay away from all the noise and just go out there and try to help my team win games.”

After last night’s win, the Pelicans now have a 7-10 record, and sit at the 14th spot in the West. If the Pelicans aim to make it to the playoffs, they would have to start getting such performances from Lonzo Ball on a regular basis.
