“Would never let Anthony Davis play for Boston Celtics’- Lakers’ star dad blasts Celtics for Isaiah Thomas trade

Anthony Davis’s father claims he would never want his son to suit up for the Boston Celtics, after how they dealt with Isaiah Thomas.

The Anthony Davis trade saga from the 2018-19 season was quite ugly. After spending 7 years with the Pelicans Davis decided to take his talents elsewhere.

The Pelicans had failed to surround him with a Playoff caliber roster and he eventually demanded a trade. This news shook the NBA once it was reported. Multiple teams were offering to unload a massive package to trade for the 6’11 All-Star.

One of these teams was the Boston Celtics, who looked to bolster their roster in an effort give Kyrie Irving a superstar teammate. This however, never seemed to pan out for the Celtics. This is because Davis’s father decided to step in.

Anthony Davis’s Sr. refuses let his son play for the Celtics.

The Celtics and the Lakers were at the forefront of the Anthony Davis sweepstakes back in the 2018-19 season. Playing for the Lakers, alongside LeBron James was quite enticing to Davis.

However, the Boston Celtics were adamant on acquiring him as well and were willing to give up multiple young pieces to make that happen.

Anthony Davis Sr. Was not a fan of this idea whatsoever and texted ESPN’s Ramona Shelbourne, “I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas. No loyalty! The guy gave his heart and soul and they traded him.”

Danny Ainge has built up a reputation for making trades that are solely in the best interest of the Celtics organization. Trading away Thomas after his performance in the 2017 Playoffs came as a shock to all.

Davis’s arrival in LA instead of Boston worked out for the better for him as he ended up winning is first championship alongside LeBron James.
