'Injuries have slowed Anthony Davis down': Lakers' coach Frank Vogel on AD's slow start to the season despite LeBron James popping off

Anthony Davis is struggling and having a slow start to the season. The star has been dealing with some injuries, which Frank Vogel also acknowledged.

The Los Angeles Lakers entered this season with the least time to prepare compared to any other team. Being the champions, the Lakers had to stay in the NBA Bubble for the longest time.

Despite getting the least rest time, the Lakers have been in red hot form entering the 2020-2021 campaign. Behind the leadership of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and some key acquisitions this offseason, the Lakers are one of the favourites to win the title.

Although they are having a great season,  He said:

“The fact that AD (Anthony Davis) has missed a couple of games because of some minor injuries, I think has restricted him a little bit or slowed him down from the same type of build-up.”

‘He’s not far behind’: Frank Vogel talks about Anthony Davis slowly coming back in his form

Despite the early-season injuries that have been nagging the All-Star, coach Frank Vogel believes he will slowly start to round into form. He said that Davis ‘is not far behind’ from the others and will return to his great form in no time.

It has been pretty evident that Davis isn’t playing like himself. The 4-time All-Defensive player has been struggling on the offensive end, averaging 22.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season. These stats are amongst his lowest since his rookie year.

Fortunately for the Lakers, despite Davis’ and even LeBron James’ injuries, they have managed to have a great record. Lakers are currently 16-6 placed third on the stacked Western Conference. The Lakers have the whole season long to maintain their performance while not falling prey to injuries.
