Ja Morant jersey customisation idea, one that demeaned the cops has led to the Grizzlies star apologising for his statements.

The NBA is reportedly considering letting players customize the back of their uniforms during the restart games in Orlando.
Oklahoma City point guard Chris Paul, the president of the National Basketball Players Association, told ESPN that it’s something the league is considering.

“We’re just trying to continue to shed light on the different social justice issues that guys around our league continue to talk about day in and day out,” Paul told The Undefeated. “People are saying that social justice will be off of everybody’s mind in Orlando. With these jerseys, it doesn’t go away.”Paul added.

The NBA and NBPA earlier announced that they were in talks with Nike to allow players to customize the names on the back of their jerseys as a way to support the Black Lives movement.

For those unaware, “F–k 12” is a way of saying “f–k the police,” especially the drug unit.

Morant was joking around with such a post, but he was criticized for it. He later had to take the story off Instagram.

The 20-year old apologized for his post and showed his support for the black lives matter campaign.

According to ESPN’s The Undefeated, “the players’ union and the league are collaborating to allow players to wear jerseys with personalized social justice, social cause or charity messages on the backs instead of their last names during the upcoming restart of the NBA season.”

The NBA and NBPA started this initiative as one way to address the growing concern about the NBA restart posing as a distraction from the more important social issues the nation is facing today.

The NBA restarts on the 30th of July in Orlando.
