“Kawhi Leonard is probably the player I use most on NBA 2K”: Kevin Durant reveals his gaming preferences after being named a cover athlete for the 75th Anniversary Edition alongside Kareem and Dirk
Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard are 2 of the best players in the game today. And as they say, real recognize real given KD’s recent interview.
KD has been featured on the cover for NBA 2K22’s 75th Anniversary edition of the game alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Dirk Nowitzki. For an ardent basketball fan like him, it’s definitely an honor to be featured alongside 2 all-time greats.
Durant gave an interview shortly after this announcement was officially made today. While this certainly wasn’t a very illuminating interview, we still learnt a couple of things about the Nets star.
Kevin Durant reveals that he plays most often using Kawhi Leonard, disagrees with his NBA 2K ratings
Basketball fans were looking forward to a duel of the ages between Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant in this year’s NBA Finals. Those visions didn’t materialize as both the Nets and the Clippers bit the injury bug.
Kawhi limped off the floor in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with knee damage. The Clippers superstar was averaging an insane 30 points per game on 60% shooting from the floor at that point.
We could still see a duel in the upcoming years between 2 of the most complete players of all time. KD definitely relishes Kawhi’s game, and he gives props to the Klaw by using him on NBA 2K a ton:
“I wanna say Kawhi, I play with his teams a lot. I use that All-Time San Antonio team, All-Time Raptors team, you know. He’s on both of those teams. And he’s a problem in the game. So probably Kawhi right now.”

KD also has a few bones to pick with the makers of the game, given that he was only given a 96 rating on NBA 2K21. He laid out the problems with how he’s configured on 2K in one of the follow-up questions:
“I’m absolutely not satisfied with my ratings. I think I should be higher, I don’t have any Hall of Fame badges, which I think is absurd. But I still play.”
