"Kevin Durant, a happy meal won't hurt you": When Charles Barkley roasted the then-Warriors star after he gave his game-worn jersey to Drake following a 51-point game vs Raptors in 2018

Charles Barkley and Kevin Durant may not have seen eye-to-eye in the recent past. But that doesn’t mean Chuck wouldn’t crack jokes on KD.

Kevin Durant seems to have a physique that’s like a literal basketball cheat code, when you think about it. He’s unfairly tall and long at 6’10.5″ with a wingspan of 7’4″. But KD doesn’t play like a power forward at all.

He’s always been a slender lad, which has allowed him to pull off guard-like moves with more ease. His work on improving his handles and shooting has certainly helped him a ton and opened up his scoring game.

But there’s a downside to being the Slim Reaper (is it the coolest nickname in basketball or what!). He just can’t body people up like a true big man despite having a height comparable to modern NBA centers.

That hasn’t stopped him from being arguably the most prolific, effortless yet effective scorer of the 21st century. But it’s something that Chuck joked about on national television after a 2018-19 game between Golden State and Toronto.

“A happy meal won’t hurt Kevin Durant”: When Charles Barkley roasted the then-Warriors star

Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard had a regular season duel for the ages in the aforementioned game. The Raptors surged to a 13-point first quarter lead as Golden State played without Stephen Curry or Draymond Green.

It fell to KD to be the creator as well as the scorer on the offensive end for the rest of the game. And Durant rose to the challenge magnificently. He took Kawhi back to summer practice sessions with his mid-range mastery.

KD even tied the game up with an improbable fadeaway 3-pointer over an incredible contest by Kawhi. But the Raptors held their nerve and snatched the game away in OT.

It seemed like Durant had lost a bet to Drake, judging from how they interacted after the game. Durant took off his jersey and gave it to the bestselling rapper of the past decade.

His slender physique was brought starkly to Chuck’s attention, who couldn’t help himself from laughing out loud while saying:

“Is that a cadaver? Look at how skinny that dude is. Is that dude in Golden State? A happy meal wouldn’t hurt the brother! He had 51 points, he’d have had 55 if he’d had a hamburger!”

Never change, Chuck. Never change. And also, please never retire from TNT until the end of time.
