"Kobe Bryant would go bike riding at 4:30 AM": Tim Grover waxes eloquent about the Lakers legend's work ethic and dedication to improving his craft

Former MJ trainer reveals an intriguing story about Kobe Bryant which proves just how scarily hardworking the former player was.

The late great Kobe Bryant was undoubtedly one of the greatest players the NBA had ever seen. The career Laker accumulated 5 champions in his time in the NBA, a regular-season MVP, and even two finals MVPs over the course of his career.

But the thing that stands out most about the former player to this day, is his mentality and work ethic towards the sport. There are countless stories of the Black Mamba displaying his dedication to the game.

How he outworked his teammates, his rivals and so on.  But, Bryant’s former trainer has recently revealed a story that may just be far more insane than anything we have heard about the NBA great. And so, without further ado, let’s get into it.

Kobe Bryant used to start off his bike rides at 4:30 am, and return only when the sun was at its peak

Tim Grover is one of the most famous athletic trainers of all time in the NBA community. As many know, he worked personally with Michael Jordan for several seasons.

But what many may not be aware of, is that after MJ retired, Grover joined forces with Kobe Bryant. And so essentially, hardly anyone was as close to the Black Mamba as the well-known trainer.

Hence, given how close they were, you would expect Tim Grover to have some very interesting stories to tell about Kobe Bryant. And he recently revealed one of those tales to GQ.

“What time is the ride? 4:30 in the morning! He wants to be out there before the sun comes up. And then, he wants to take a break and ride back when the sun is at its peak. ‘If I am going to do this, I want the most uncomfortable temperature environment out there.”

Tim Grover mentioned that this happened when Kobe Bryant was in Las Vegas, training for the Olympics. He also went to say that the other players caught wind of it at the time and wanted to go along. However, Grover refused due to the regimen not being made for everybody.

Overall, though, this story is honestly nuts. Doing everything in your power to make an already difficult work out that much harder? Now that is something only Kobe Bryant would do. And we as fans will always remember and cherish him for it.
