Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler issues a warning to the rest of the league about the talent and grit of the franchise heading into this postseason. 

The Miami Heat were one of the most eye-catching stories of last season. A team essentially made up of apparent misfits, with the then thought to be harmony disruptor in Jimmy Butler as their best player.

At the time, many slept on this team, with many experts believing the franchise wouldn’t even make the postseason. But oh, how things have changed.

After their run to the finals last year, the team is now considered one of the best in a now stacked Eastern Conference. Even if they are still considered closer to dark horses than contenders, the NBA community now has a tough time betting against them in any given game.

Recently, the team pulled off yet another surprise. The Heat defeated the 76ers with a final score of 106-94. After the game, Jimmy Butler got on the air with the Inside Crew on TNT. And here, he announced just why the rest of the league needs to be wary of this team.

As fans may remember, the Miami Heat started off this season rather poorly. During this time, the roster was plagued with injuries and absences, causing the team to struggle massively during games. At times, fans and analysts alike almost foolishly chose to count this team out once again. But now, after finally being healthy, the franchise is once again looking dangerous.

Even with all their players being healthy, however, the names on the Heat still may not jump out at you. After all, the team isn’t as stacked as say the Nets, Lakers, or even the 76ers, on paper at least. However, what helps Miami go above and beyond their perceived ceiling, is the dogged mentality they take with them to every game.

After their recent win against the 76ers, Jimmy Butler was interviewed on TNT’s Inside the NBA. And this is exactly what he spoke on. Take a listen.

“I like our chances against anybody honestly. Nobody intimidates us.”

Just that line from Jimmy Butler will be inspirational for fans of the Heat, but haunting for every other top team. It is an open letter to the other contenders, with the message saying, ‘we are coming for you.’

Even if the franchise may only stand 5^th in the East, they could eat just about any team alive during this postseason.
