Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is one of the best players in the whole league. The 3-time All-Star has completely revolutionised how the centre position is played. Changing the stereotype that big men can only grab rebounds and play in the paint, Jokic has been doing it all.
Behind the leadership of the Serbian star, the Nuggets have been one of the front-runners to win the championship this season. We even witnessed Nikola and his Nuggets team have an incredible playoff run last season in the NBA bubble, upsetting Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers.
This 2020-2021 season too, the Denver Nuggets entered the new campaign with great confidence instilled in them. The Denver team has been on a roll this year. They have an incredible 43-21 record to be placed 3rd in the Western Conference. One of the massive reasons for their success has been Nikola Jokic. However, is it enough for the 284-pound 26-year-old to win the esteemed MVP?

Magic Johnson believes Nikola Jokic has a case for being the MVP after having a consistent season
Nikola Jokic has been having a terrific last couple of seasons to be fair to him. However, this year is by far his best season of the career. The 284-pound sixth-year player has been putting up a terrific 26.2 points, 10.9 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game while shooting at 56.8% from the field. What is more impressive is that Jokic has been doing all this without even missing a single game this season.
Despite the blow suffered to Jamal Murray 10 games ago, the Nuggets have continued their red hot form. Proving all their doubters wrong, they won an outstanding 9 out of the 10 games in Murray’s absence. This has caused Nikola to be the front-runner for the MVP award. Many analysts and players have named him as their favourite to win the MVP.
Lakers legend Magic Johnson was the recent most person to laud Jokic for his consistency and speak about his chances of being the MVP. Magic took it to Twitter and expressed himself.

The Joker has been doing his job pretty well, filling up the stat sheet on a nightly basis. Seeing the position Nuggets are in, Jokic does seem to have a great chance to claim the 2021 MVP over Joel Embiid, Stephen Curry and LeBron James. Even though it may seem a bit improbable, Denver would give their everything these last 8 games to finish with the number 1 seed in the Western Conference.
