Chris Paul takes dig at Russell Westbrook

Chris Paul took a slight dig at Russell Westbrook after the Rockets guard suffered a turnover in their last offensive play of the game to hand the victory to the Thunder.

Chris Paul’s redemption season reaches game 7 and it gives the veteran a chance to knock off his former team out of the playoffs. The floor general came up clutch in the second half with the all-star calmly knocking down both his free throws at 100-100 with  13.1 seconds remaining. After the game, the veteran took a dig at Russell Westbrook for whom he was traded to the Thunder.

Russell Westbrook has always been criticized for lacking the clutch gene by his critics. His performance in game 6 did just prove their argument right as the multi-time all-star committed a turnover with less than 10 seconds remaining.

On the contrary, the Thunder have developed into one of the best teams in clutch situations this season under the veteran presence of Chris Paul. Last night too, CP3 was able to pull off two dagger 3s in the clutch to help OKC just get over the line.

The evening, however, turned sour for Westbrook as his turnover during the last possession of the game gave OKC Thunder the win.

CP3 was quick to point that out and take a subtle dig at the former MVP.

“And our team man, when it gets to crunch time, fourth quarter, some people built for it, some people shy away from it. You know, you saw Dame, all that stuff.”

Damian Lillard has time and again proved that he is made for the ‘clutch. He led the Blazers to an unprecedented spot in the playoffs, thanks to some amazing performances in the seeding games.

Westbrook on the other hand has time and again been called out for his performances in the clutch. He has never been able to take his team past the 1st round and it seems the demons of the past are coming to haunt him again.

Moreover, with Chris Paul still salty because of Rockets trading him, he was quick to rub salt on Russ’ open wounds.
