WATCH: 7ft 4" 'Nonchalant' Victor Wembanyama Treats Fans to Incredible 'Through the Legs' Dunk Days Before NBA Draft

The NBA draft is almost upon us, being just 23 days away. The crown jewel of this event is set to be Victor Wembanyama. So far, there has been absolutely no doubt he will be picked ahead of everybody else at 1st overall by the San Antonio Spurs, something he is more than aware of. And yet, it appears he still feels the need to show off a little bit. Ahead of a recent game, the 19-year-old tried a move during warmups. And frankly, the ease he pulled it off is beyond unfair.

The Spurs are likely watching on, dreaming of all the times to come. And apparently, the feeling is mutual. Wembanyama has admitted on countless occasions he was hoping to go to fellow Frenchman Tony Parker’s former NBA team. Still, even considering the high standards Spurs have for Wemby, his most recent highlight will have left countless minds blown within the organization.

Victor Wembanyama makes a between-the-legs dunk look a bit too easy

Victor Wembanyama is a 7’4” behemoth of a basketball player. However, there is usually a rather large downside to this – they turn out to be heavy-footed, often lacking the agility to be more than serviceable role players in the NBA. Fortunately for the Spurs, Wemby is very, very different.

When you look at the 19-year-old play, it isn’t his height that strikes you the most, but rather his fluidity. Despite his massive size, there aren’t many clumsy movements to him whatsoever. Instead, he seems highly deliberate with everything he does and has full control of every inch of his body.

That said, it’s important not to forget that he has also been blessed with incredible bounce, something he promptly showed off in a recent highlight. Take a look at the tweet by NBA Central below.

A between the legs, ‘Eastbay’ dunk with so much grace, even Vince Carter is probably blushing right now.

Setting his highlights aside, though, let’s look at a deeper aspect of what Wembanyama is going to bring to the Spurs – his financial impact.

What is Wemby going to do for the Spurs financially?

In all honesty, it is no secret that San Antonio is a small market. They were once feared as the biggest dynasty of the NBA. However, now they are one of the laughingstocks that the NBA community doesn’t even care enough to laugh at extensively.

Naturally, their lack of relevance has often placed a financial burden on them too. However, even in that category, Victory Wembanyama has been deemed the messiah of the organization. Here is what Sports Business Journal had to report on the matter.

“In D.C., Ben Golliver reports that several NBA team execs believe Wembanyama’s economic impact on the Spurs “could surpass $1 billion during his career, once ticket and merchandise sales, sponsorship revenue and the franchise’s valuation are taken into account””

Could the San Antonio Spurs ride this Victor Wembanyama wave to become a dynasty once again? Will Wemby even be a boom rather than a bust player? There is no answer yet, but we can’t wait to find out.
