What Happened to JJ Redick: Evaluating Magic’s 6FT 3’ Guard’s Career After NBA
JJ Redick was a star in college, one of the greatest scorers the college had seen in its history. He dominated the teams and made multiple records. But NBA is not a natural next step after college. NBA isn’t even in the same league. While most believed that he would shine in the league, he was fairly disappointing in his time with Orlando.
He became just a name in the roster providing depth to the rotation. But unfortunately, he played only 140 games in his first three seasons and averaged just 14.4 minutes. Yet, somehow, Redick became an important part of the rotation by his 6th season.
Despite starting so slowly, Redick turned his career around and enjoyed a 16-season-long career. After playing for some fantastic teams, Redick finally announced his retirement in 2021. The end of his career, however, was only the beginning of new opportunities.
What happened to JJ Redick after his NBA career?
Redick had a fairly successful career. He got to play with the Clippers and even became a phenomenal scorer. But in life, all good things must come to an end. However, unlike other role players, JJ Redick has managed to stay relevant despite an average career as an athlete.
Today, Redick has become a legitimate analyst capable of insightful conversations. Unlike Bayless and Stephen A. Smith, Redick likes to stay out of controversy and rather enjoys breaking down plays and performances logically.
His 16-year experience has definitely helped his cause. As far as analysts go, Redick is someone who is questioning the existing sensational media and analysis.

On top of his career as an analyst, he also runs a very successful podcast. He now has his own independent podcast called The Oldman and the Three which is highly successful. Fascinatingly, Redick started podcasting while he was still an active player.
Redick’s net worth
JJ Redick was fairly well-played as an NBA player. He started his career with a $1.8 million paycheck in his rookie year. However, in his first season with the Philadelphia 76ers, he earned $23 million, the most he ever made in the NBA in a calendar season.
Redick’s current net worth is estimated to be $50 million. His career as a podcaster and analyst is paying well and Redick has managed to create a steady income source and a means to stay relevant.
