"When was Warriors in hell?": Channing Frye, former LeBron James teammate, gets roasted for saying Steph Curry didn't lead Dubs to relevance

Channing Frye might feel like he’s currently on Twitter’s frying pan. The former NBA champion came in for some criticism for dissing Steph Curry.

Steph is one of those superstars who catch more strays than practically anyone in the league. Much of this is without reason also. Curry is made to look like somebody who created a superteam to have to win. His 2015 NBA title is looked at as one of the luckiest ever in league history.

Steph also gets called out for recruiting Kevin Durant to an already 73-9 team. Even with the superteam Warriors era done, Curry gets no respite from that hate. Some people will always remember him as the leader of a record-setting team that choked and then ran to a rival for help.

Channing Frye gets fried for going after Steph Curry

Channing Frye had some choice words for Steph on Twitter last night:

““Yes they won championships, I guess that’s all that matters. But I think at the end, I’m just saying this as someone on the outside, it almost looks like it diminishes everything that was accomplished beforehand. It takes away the lore of the Warriors. Until the Warriors go back without him, it’s like, ‘Well, you had to have a stacked team with five Hall of Famers on it.’ … This is the question, and this is unfair, but can Steph do that now?”

He then made an even more damning statement:

Understandably, Frye came in for a lot of criticism for these comments.

People seem to have taken Frye’s case pretty well if you ask me. It’s a waste to try and sell Steph short to people who’ve been long term NBA fans. Steph is the most game-changing player of this generation and deserves to be treated as such.
