"When You're Old as Chris Paul, You Don't Want Russell Westbrook Coming to Your House": Charles Barkley Warns Kevin Durant and Co of Fatigue vs Clippers

Chris Paul is currently in the tail-end of his NBA career. At the age of 37, it’s pretty obvious that the Point God is on his last legs in the league. Which means his championship window is closing and fast.

So, when the Phoenix Suns traded for Kevin Durant, everything was looking up. In fact, many believed the Suns were one of the favorites to go the distance and win it all. However, Game 1 of their Round 1 match against the Los Angeles Clippers tells another story.

Kawhi Leonard and his team shocked the world by compromising Phoenix’s homecourt advantage. But, while The Klaw’s performance was exceptional, NBA legend Charles Barkley was particularly impressed by Russell Westbrook. And, according to him, that is the match-up that the Suns and CP3 need to watch out for.

Charles Barkley believes the Phoenix Suns should be worried about Chris Paul matching up against Russell Westbrook

The Phoenix Suns were left embarrassed after their Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. After all, they were the favorites to win it all. With a “Big 3” like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul, winning should have been easy against Paul George-less Clippers.

Unfortunately, Kawhi Leonard had other plans for them. But, it wasn’t just The Klaw who put in a performance. Despite not being much of a threat in terms of scoring, Russell Westbrook was integral to the Clippers’ win. And, with Game 2 on the horizon, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley believes he will play a pivotal role yet again.

In particular, the Round Mound of Rebound believes that the Suns should be most concerned about him matching up against CP3. A player he claims may be too old and too tired to deal with an explosive Brodie.

“Chris Paul is the best leader we’ve had in the NBA. The one thing you don’t want to see when you’re old and tired is Russell Westbrook. Let me tell you something. That’s the one thing. When you get old and tired like Chris Paul is. The one thing you don’t want to have is Russell Westbrook coming to your house.”

The Chuckster makes a good point. Given how much Russ has improved while with the Clippers, it is only natural that the Suns fear him going toe-to-toe with an aging Paul.

CP3 also has Scott Foster to worry about in addition to Russell Westbrook

Facing off against Russell Westbrook is certainly concerning. But, that isn’t the only problem Chris Paul has heading into Game 2. After all, his least favorite referee will be taking charge of the match. Scott Foster, the man who has officiated 14 of CP3’s 71 Playoff losses will be watching his every move.

At the end of the day, it’s clear to see that the Point God has a lot of obstacles in his way. Hopefully, he will be able to overcome them and help the Phoenix Suns get back on the right track.
