Netherlands Vs Italy

NED Vs ITA Dream 11 Prediction: Netherlands Vs Italy. Last edition’s finalist strive to achieve their second straight win in Group 1.

After reaching the finals of the inaugural edition of the UEFA Nations League, it was bound that all eyes would be circled in on Netherlands in the second instalment of the tournament as well. The side is touted to impress this time around as well after enduring a massively successful campaign in the 2018-19 edition.

And the side got things off just in the manner their ardent supporters would have wanted. Recording a 1-0 win to Poland in their tournament opener, Netherlands find themselves sitting in top spot in Group 1 of League A with the country being the only side to register a win in the first round of matches in the group.

They’ll be looking to make it two wins on the bounce when they take on the Italians today. Although they have traditionally struggled against Italy with the visiting team having won 10 of the 21 matches between the two while having lost just three, Netherlands current form augurs well for them ahead of the impending showdown.

Probable Winner

After winning just once in the foregone edition, Italy went on a rampage in the Euro qualifiers. They topped their group by winning 10 matches to take their winning spree in the global arena to 11 successive wins.

However, that spree was curtailed after the side was held to a 1-1 draw by Bosnia and Herzegovina in its first Group 1 tie. The side will though take heart from the resillinace they put on show to cancel out Dzeko’s goal and take away a share of the spoils on the day.

This promises to make for an intriguing affair with both the side’s being in vibrant touch. We envisage this one curbing in a draw in what will be a closely fought tie.

Dream 11 Picks

Goal-Keeper

We’ll be beginning our set of picks for the day by roping in Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma as our goal-keeper for the day. The shot stopper was crucial in helping his side to a draw as he staved away the opponents repeated attempts to breach his goal.

Defenders

We begin this docket of our Dream 11 side by rightfully venturing in with the defensive picks from Netherlands. The side’s backline was once again flawless in its performance against Poland with the team quashing the opposition to accrue a cleansheet on the day.

Flaring up both the defensive and attacking ambit for the side was fullback Hans Hateboer. He not only helped his side to a cleansheet but was responsible for the assist for the tie’s only goal as well to make him an instant pick.

Coming in next to him is CB Virgil Van Dijk who was yet again in fine touch on the field. The Italians elsewhere will also have the one name represent them for the clash with us opting for the flair filled Alessandro Florenzi.

Midfielders

Struggling to find a way back in their bygone clash, Italy had Stefano Sensi to thank for their equaliser on the day. The midfielder scored the side’s only goal of the affair, one which ensured the side of a point on the day.

Nicolo Barella will link up with him with the midfield being in fine touch currently. He’s transitioned the ball from defence to attack with ease along with utilising his tenacity to clampdown on the attacking plays.

We also have the two names be ingrained in our side from Netherlands. We’ll begin with Frenkie de Jong with the midfielder utilising his ball handling abilities to run the play and keep the ball moving quickly in the midfield for the side.

Wijnaldum pops up as well from the side owing to his ability to involve himself right in the side’s goal scoring aspirations.

Strikers

The scorer of the only goal in the Netherlands and Poland matchup, Steven Bergwijn pulled off the goal winning strike for the club to see him represent us from the side. Memphis Depay makes a foray into our side as well with the player having endured a solid season for Lyon in Ligue 1 2019-20.

Lorenzo Insigne didn’t get a goal or assist on the day but barring that, he did everything required from him. From laying up the ball for his counterparts with articulate passes to working his way past tight spaces, he made life a predicament for the opposition.

Captain And Vice-Captain

His goal against Poland sees Steven be our captain for the day while Insigne is the vice-captain.
