Newcaslte vs Man Utd highlights: Manchester United registered their fourth successive league win with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle.
Manchester United secured another three points in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle.
The first half was underwhelming, as both the teams could hardly create a close chance to score. Manchester United were particularly slow on their right wing, and Solskjaer brought on Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku 17 minutes into second half, which proved to be the game changer.
Romelu Lukaku scored with his first touch after being subbed on, while a brilliant counter-attack from the Belgian forward, alongside Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford, resulted in the goal for the latter.
With this win, Manchester United are six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, after they dropped points against Southampton earlier tonight.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the win:
Pogba wins the ball back. Great play between Rashford and Lukaku. Assist from Sanchez. Then you see the manager delighted on the sidelines. We’re a million miles away from what we were, aren’t we.

Oh hey, it’s been a while. Just here to say that Romelu Lukaku is now one Premier League goal behind Sergio Aguero this season.

Romelu Lukaku is loving life under Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Another game, another goal.

Not gonna blow teams away with scintillating, free-flowing football in every match so it’s good to see a match where we’ve ground out a good result. Lindelof excellent tonight & De Gea largely untroubled even if there are still issues at the back.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær becomes the first #mufc manager since Sir Matt Busby to win his first four games in charge of the club #mulive pic.twitter.com/ZVqMSBfJjK

One thing Ole definitely can coach is finishing. “I’ve seen [Rashford] rush a few finishes. He thinks ‘I’ve got to get a shot off early’ when sometimes you just pass it past the keeper.”

Now would like to see Alexis Sánchez start against Reading and let him have the full 90 minutes to regain match fitness. Perfect opportunity for him. Hope Ole Gunnar Solskjær uses some of the youth players.

Alexis Sanchez’s cameo was very promising too. Such a fantastic counter attacking goal to finish it off with the 2nd too. Another memorable day! #mufc

Newcastle fans booing Pogba for being the victim of a blatant red card challenge. Football tribalism at its best!

This REF is shite!!! How can Shaw get booked for a pull pack but Voldemort gets nothing for using the death spell on Pogba

Supersubs, 14 goals in 4 games, Rashford / Martial firing, Lukaku scoring, Pogba brilliant (except today) , Herrera and Lindelof being solid pic.twitter.com/IpVCWmvkSn

Lindelof excellent for Man Utd, MOTM. Composed, commanding performance. Defended well and moved out of the backline in an assured manner. Credit due because the lad has taken a lot of criticism.

Who would ever have thought? Sanchez can still play.

Solskjær’s a master-coach. What a substitution.
