Neymar: La Liga President does not want return of former Barcelona star to Nou Camp

La Liga president claims that Neymar does not set good precedence to younger ones.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has publicly admitted that he hopes Neymar does not return to the La Liga because he believes the Brazilian does not set a good example.

The 27-year-old forced a move to Paris Saint Germain in 2017, but he has been vehemently linked with a possible reunion with the Blaugrana. Reports have quoted about his return, but Barcelona’s vice-president Jodi Cardoner claimed that the player himself has offered him, but there are not keen on him.

Speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Tebas also highlighted the Brazilian’s behaviour and claimed that Neymar does not share the same “values” as La Liga.

“I prefer that Neymar does not return to Barca,” Tebas said.

“We always want to bring great players, but in the case of Neymar that behaviour is not good for the competition because in the end, the news is if the player has done this or that.

“We have worked a lot in La Liga to maintain the values and we don’t want to change the image.

“He can be a great player, but the behaviour is very important in the values we transmit in the competition. “If outside the field the example is not correct, I prefer that he doesn’t return to La Liga because he is not a good example.” he said.

Neymar is currently in Brazil, supporting his nation. He was forced to pull out of the squad following an ankle injury when he was in action against Qatar in the friendy.

The deal looks unlikely to materialize unless Philippe Coutinho moves in the other way. The latter was admired by PSG before he joined Barcelona, but the French outfit would gladly accept him as Neymar’s replacement should the deal go through. Manchester United were linked with the duo, but they have set their eyes elsewhere.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Neymar could move to Barcelona if the Spanish club matches PSG’s demands.
