Neymar and Messi’s wife congratulate the Argentine captain

In what will be remembered as the day when Messi saved Argentina, the magical number ten scored a Hat Trick to take his country into the World Cup in Russia.

In a must win match for Argentina, they went 1-0 down within 40 seconds to Ecuador. But Messi was not going to miss what could be his last World Cup as he rose to the occasion and scored three stunning goals for his team.

After the match, people just marveled at the brilliance of Messi as the Argentine gave his best performance for his home nation. After years of being criticized for not inspiring Argentina, Messi was THE man as the 2014 finalists ensured their passage into the World Cup.

After the match, Neymar took to the media to congratulate his friend and former team mate on his country’s qualification for the World Cup.

“I’m happy for him,” Neymar told reporters after Brazil’s 3-0 win over Chile.

“I’m happy to see a friend participate in such an important competition. I also have friends in the Chile team but we’re men. We have to play to win every game.”

Messi’s wife also sent him a beautiful message on Instagram as she was glad that Mr Messi was going to the World Cup.
