Aaron Donald

Aaron Donald has gotten dominant to the point where he’s attracting the opposition like Steph Curry does for the Golden State Warriors.

The Rams star has repeatedly been one of the best defenders in the league for years now. He’s a game-wrecker in every sense as his pass-rushing ability is definitely the best in the league.

Donald’s incredible 2020-21 season secured him the AP Defensive Player of the Year for the third time in four years. His dominance right now is unparalleled. When you play the Los Angeles Rams, you have a few players to look out for, but Donald is the one you genuinely need to game plan around.

The Miami Dolphins took Donald’s presence very seriously when the two teams matched up last season on November 1st, 2020.

Aaron Donald Received Steph Curry Like Treatment During Rams Dolphins Game

If you’re looking for an NBA equivalent to Aaron Donald, you’d have to look no further than Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry.

Curry’s three point shooting carries a lot of gravity, and forces opposing defenses to play much further out then they’d like to because Curry is a threat to hit a three from anywhere on the court.

As a result, you’ll often see Curry being guarded like this:

It looks like the Miami Dolphins took a page from the Phoenix Suns’ playbook when it came to blocking Aaron Donald in their matchup. This Instagram post pretty much sums it up:

Yep, that’s four players blocking one. Donald may be a beast, but there is no way he would have been able to overpower all four offensive linemen. However, that’s not the point of the post. It just goes to show exactly how much attention Donald attracts.

If the Rams had rushed more than four players on that play, Miami would have been in trouble as they would literally have nobody else to block the extra player. So, even when Donald is well defended and not hitting or sacking the quarterback, he’s still a nightmare just because of what he can do, just like Steph Curry.
