Watson’s allegations seemed iffy to begin with, but as the number of lawsuits and accusations grow things only become more unclear. The latest lawsuit followed the same patterns as the earlier ones.
From the most recent- the 14th – civil suit filed against Deshaun Watson: “Plaintiff believes Watson to be a serial predator.”
The lawsuit says this incident took place in L.A. in July 2020. Two of the 14 lawsuits accuse Watson of sexual assault taking place outside of Houston. pic.twitter.com/z9qzPECPIB— Kalyn Kahler (@kalynkahler) March 23, 2021
What Is Deshaun Watson Being Accused Of?
The latest lawsuit accuses Watson of sexual assault. The incident took place in 2020 in California. This was just the second of the 14 allegations to have taken place outside of Houston.
Supposedly, Watson had “assaulted and harassed Plaintiff by exposing himself to her and touching her with his penis.”
Watson had invited a personal massage therapist to come work with him in California. Upon arriving at the given address, the massage therapist claims to have gone through a traumatizing and sexually inappropriate situation.
Apparently, Watson had “locked the doors behind him” ensuring the plaintiff couldn’t leave. He then “forced Plaintiff’s hand onto his penis.”
Additionally, Watson told her to keep everything hush. He wouldn’t have her sign an NDA but wanted everything to remain secret.
Moreover, Watson would later contact the therapist on Instagram again pretending like nothing had happened. Once again, the 14th lawsuit follows a similar pattern as the other 13.
The lawyer representing all these cases, Tony Buzbee, has said that he plans to submit affidavits and evidence which would implicate Watson. He plans to turn them in on Monday, and he has also requested for a grand jury to look over the evidence.
The NFL is also investigating into this matter. NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy came out and said that “the matter is under review” and the Houston Texans issued a statement saying they intend to cooperate with the NFL in the investigation.
