Noah Sewell NFL Draft 2023: Oregon Linebacker Eyes for a First Round Pick as a Five Star Recruit From Utah

While fans happen to lurk over quarterbacks and wide receivers in the upcoming 2023 NFL draft, there are several prospects in the defensive class to bag the top spot. One of them is Oregon product Noah Sewell, the linebacker who has already garnered interest from teams across the NFL fraternity.

The 20-year-old linebacker is one of the finest stars to go off the boards in this year’s draft. Sewell, who comes from an athletic family, has already shown his skills in the combine day drills, and his followers have been closely following the star on social media. Here we take a look at his past records and achievements.

Will Noah Sewell find a place in the first round?

The 2023 NFL draft will kick off on April 27 at 8:00 pm ET in Kansas City. For the first time ever, KC will witness the glorious moment and has already begun preparations to welcome the stars. Unlike last season, this year’s class is studded with talent at the quarterback position.

The wide receiver corps is not behind; however, a little room is left for the defensive stars. Sewell is one of the few prospects who remains a potential suitor on the top list. Although it is quite complicated to predict at this point, the consensus five-star recruit from Utah has registered crazy records in college.

The linebacker played for three years as a starter in Oregon, recording 215 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 11 pass deflections, and two interceptions. Hence, he is capable of strengthening a defensive unit in his rookie season.

Looking at his physical attributes, Sewell is 6’1″ tall and weighs around 246 pounds with a hand length of 10″. He aced the combine day drills, recording a 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds and a vertical of 33″.

Sewell has an NFL background

The star was born in Malaeimi. He hails from American Samoa. Since childhood, Sewell has showcased athletic abilities, which inspired his father to relocate to St. George, Utah, in 2012.

He has three brothers, and all of them are engaged in pro football as a career option. His elder brother, Penei Sewell, plays for the Detroit Lions as an offensive tackle after being selected as a No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

His second brother, Nephi Sewell, plays linebacker for the Saints, going undrafted in 2022. Gabriel Sewell Jr. (third) is also an LB playing for the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars. Coming from such a rich background filled with talents, it will be interesting to see whether he finds a place in the upcoming draft.
