The Seattle Seahawks have kickstarted their Draft process by picking Illinois’ cornerback Devon Witherspoon as the 5th pick of the year. Seahawks fans in NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made the announcement, and when Witherspoon walked on stage sporting a Seahawks cap. However, this pick has drawn some concerns among analysts and fans, especially regarding his physical aspects.

The Seahawks got the #5 pick this year when they traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. In what is considered one of the most expensive, and possibly the worst trades made by Denver, the Seahawks seem to be thriving. Especially given that they have one more pick in this round, coming in at #20.
With that height, can he do what he'll be needed to do? Damn Seahawks https://t.co/gKgC3DsJOj

Devon Witherspoon draws mild concerns because of his height and weight
Almost everyone is happy about Devon Witherspoon getting picked by the Seahawks. However, that does not mean the concerns about his height and weight are under the carpet. Though his weight at 181 pounds isn’t the biggest issue, his 5’11” size is something that bothers many. Especially since the average height of receivers in the NFL is above his height.
Many feel that Witherspoon might be a tad bit too short to stop passes that go over his head. Added to that, there are a few who feel his short strides might not be enough to catch up to receivers who gain a slight advantage over him. However, he has shown time and again that he can track down receivers and take them down as any other cornerback. Will that work for him in Seattle?
