Nic Maddinson takes an unbelievable caught and bowled in the BBL

Nic Maddinson takes an unbelievable caught and bowled in the BBL during the match between Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers.

Melbourne Stars completed a 10 run win over Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. Glenn Maxwell was awarded the man of the match award for his all round effort in the game. However, Perth Scorchers could have very well won the game if not for Nic Maddinson’s heroics.

Stars batted their 20 overs out to register a score of 141/6. Scorchers started slow but looked good to chase the target with Cameron Bancroft still in the middle. 52 in a little over 5 overs was hard but not impossible.

However, Nic Maddinson had different ideas and completely swung the favour in Melbourne Stars’ side with a fantastic catch off his own bowling to dismiss Bancroft and derail their chase.

Perth Scorchers never recovered from there and continuously lost their wickets to finish at 131/9 off their 20 overs. Nic Maddinson ended the match remarkable figures of 24/3 in his 4 overs.

Earlier in the match, a disciplined bowling from Scorchers saw Stars struggling to put runs on the board. Skipper Glenn Maxwell helped his side mount a comeback. However, he lost his wicket as soon as he started looking for the big shots.

Hilton Cartwright managed to carry his bat with a fighting half century to help his side put a respectable total to defend. In the end, it proved to be the difference.

Brief Scores: Melbourne Stars 141/6 (Hilton Cartwright 58, Glenn Maxwell 25, Matthew Kelly 3-27) defeat Perth Scorchers 131/9 (Cameron Bancroft 32, Kurtis Patterson 20, Nic Maddinson 3-24) by 10 runs.
