NYFC vs PT Dream11 Team: Week 18 draws to a close with New York looking to defeat Portland Timbers for the first time

After getting off to a lacklustre start in Major League Soccer, New York City now find themselves sitting on 13 match unbeaten spree, now which has seen them make massive strides in the Eastern Conference. They’ve climbed all the way to fifth way in the conference and with just two points separating them and D.C. United in second place, the side will be looking to push further up the league standings.

However, things won’t be easy for them today though as they come across an adversary they have just failed to get the better of in all their time in the marquee tournament. Portland Timbers might find themselves in 10th place in the Western Conference, struggling massively to make the top 7 but that will leave them undeterred when they come across New York today.

While both the sides have won the same number of matches, it’s the losses department which has severely curtailed Portland’s ambitions of making it to the top 7. They have gone onto slip up in 8 encounters, losing matches from stages in which they were controlling proceedings to find themselves 7 points behind Houston Dynamo.

Probable Winner

With the Timbers season looking well and over already as they stare at too large a deficit in their conference, it’s all about putting in the best displays and saving face in the final stages of the league. They have bitterly disappointed but can win back the trust of their ardours supporters who have ardently backed them to the fore by beginning with a win against side which has some myriad performers in it.

While the Timbers clearly hold the upper hand with the two wins from two matches between these two wins, we see New York finally registering their first ever win against them today. The goal is a bigger one for NY at the moment and its bound to see them put in that extra bit and come out of this with the three points.

Goal-Keeper for NYFC vs PT Dream11

They’ve bitterly failed to save face in the backline but the nature of their defence has improved significantly over the course of the last two weeks courtesy of Steve Clark who finds a place in our side.

Defenders for NYFC vs PT Dream11

One of the biggest and most competitive encounters of the tournament, expect things to get heated when these two sides meet. They have ever left any stone unturned when they have traversed against each other in the tournament and the defences of both the sides will play extremely crucial roles in this encounter.

Having let in just the 19 goals across their stay in the league, New York’s delightful nature of defence has made for a delightful sight to see. And based on that we have gone in for both the CBs in the form of Maxime Chanot and Sebastien Ibeagha. Coming in from the Timbers is their sole selection in the form of Jorge Moreira, a player who has emulated pristine performances in the last couple of matches.

Midfielders for NYFC vs PT Dream11

Despite the Timbers failing to impress this tournament, expect them to massively elevate their performances come this match. The identity of the opposition is set to see them up the ante and grab the initiative in this encounter with Christian Paredes and Diego Valeri. The CDM and CAM are quissential figures in their playing 11, players who play important role in finding the opposition’s goal and we are getting in both of them.

Jesus Medina, Maxi Moralez and Keaton Parks have all been chosen by us from New York with us seeing them dominating the middle of the park and winning the battle here.

Strikers for NYFC vs PT Dream11

The lone strikers come in from either side with us seeing this being a match where the goals are scoured at will. In Portland’s Jeremy Ebobisse and NY’s Velentin Castellanos we have two instrumental performers, players who are crucial to their sides fortunes and we envision them putting in sublime performances.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Castellanos has been opted for as the captain for this one while we have made Valeri the vice-captain.
