Manchester United’s loan signing Odion Ighalo is having a tough time integrating into his dream club due to his previous country of employ. Before joining the Red Devils in January, Ighalo piled his trade with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

The country is currently plagued with Coronavirus. The worldwide death toll due to coronavirus now stands at over 1,350 people, while over 60,000 have been diagnosed in China. Nine people in the UK have tested positive for the virus.

According to The Times, United’s medical staff believe the chances of Ighalo having coronavirus are ‘remote’ but the striker has been told not to visit the club’s Carrington training ground as a precaution. Instead, the former Nigeria international has been training at GB Taekwondo Centre in Manchester as he completes his 14-day incubation period.

He was also previously left out of the Red Devils’ squad that travelled to Marbella in Spain. However, Ighalo will be part of the squad that travels to London for the game against Chelsea.

‘We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp,’ said Solskjaer. ‘We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us.’

Manchester United are currently 8th in the table and 6 points behind Chelsea who are sitting at 4th. However, a win at Stamford Bridge will slash that difference in half. The Blues will themselves be wary of slipping any further in the table. Only 6 points furthering them from the 9th place and 10 points separating them from 13th place Southampton.
