Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to Paul Pogba’s Real Madrid speculations.

Paul Pogba had spoken about a potential transfer to Real Madrid. The World Cup winner wants to emulate his French icon by moving to Santiago Bernabeu in the future. The current Los Blancos manager also expressed interest on the Manchester United midfielder to lure away to the capital city of Spain.

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said Pogba.

“There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football. For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester and I’m happy.”

At the other side, Zinedine Zidane spoke about his admiration for the recent World Cup winner and added on that his quality is not questionable even though he has shown only flashes of his calibre at Old Trafford.

“I like Pogba a lot, it’s nothing new. I know him personally. He’s a different kind of player, he brings so much and there are few players who bring as much as he does. He’s a midfielder who knows how to defend and how to attack. He knows how to do everything on the pitch.

“He [Pogba] is not part of my squad, he plays at United and what he’s said about Real Madrid and his desire to come here, if one day he gets the chance when he wants to leave United….if, when he finishes his experience at United, he wants to come here, why shouldn’t he come to Real Madrid?” Zidane added.

Despite mutual attraction from both the parties, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that the Frenchman would be staying at Old Trafford beyond this summer transfer window. The Norwegian adds that Pogba is the most important player in his system and has quashed the rumours by saying so.

“I don’t like to talk about other team’s players of course, but this is another challenge with international breaks,” said Solskjaer. “Players are available all the time as well and it’s a different environment, a general talk.

“Paul is a very nice and polite man who then answered a general question on Zidane who is an icon in France, a fantastic manager.

“He used to be a fantastic player and he’s just politely answered that question, but Paul’s happy here, he’s going be a big, big part of who you like to build your team around and that hasn’t changed at all.”

It will be an interesting summer after the player and manager have spoken about the admirations on the Los Blancos. There were certain reports about the contract rejection from Pogba in January because he believes that the enticing prospect of representing the record Champions League holders.
