PK-W vs SA-W Second T20 Best Dream 11 Team: South Africa look to restore parity after a languishing batting display in the series opener

The South African women cricket team have been just unable to shake off their tepid showing with the bat this series. After a horrendous batting display in the ODI series, the same tune was played out in the first of five T20s as well. In what was a shambolic showing by the hosts as they stepped out to bat first, all they could manage was a paltry 119-7, something that hardly perturbed Pakistan who went onto win by 7 wins.
Trailing the series 1-0, for South Africa a win becomes even more so quissentialy important given the way they’ve blown apart. Another defeat for them on Saturday could end up all but dampening their chances of registering a series win here, something that will be a massive setback for them especially given that they are playing in their backyard.
South Africa Vs Pakistan Women Second T20 Best Dream 11 Team
The all-rounders saw us reap the rewards in the first T20 in Dream 11 and we are going to keep that formation intact ahead of the second encounter as well. The trio in the middle will be surrounded by the same identity as last time, with us opting for the four batters and three bowling options to construct the framework of a hefty bagful of runs.
Wicket-Keeper
Sinalo Jafta
With Lizelle Lee not being handed over the gloves for the T20 series, it’s Sinalo Jafta who has been asked to come in and deputise for her. Although she comprises of South Africa’s lower middle-order, the only reason we’ve gone with her in our side is the full capability that the home side have of catapulting. Given the unpredictable nature of the top-order, it all too likely she comes out to wield her bat in the closing stages and if she can connect a few the points will come in handy.
Top-Order
We selected Bismah Mahroof from Pakistan previously and she ended up being the top scorer in the entire match with a half-century. Her form from that encounter and the ODI series means she’s someone who we can rely on to be dependable and amass a bagful of runs yet again and she’s our pick for the second T20 as well. She’ll be accompanied by Umaima Sohail with us expecting the opener to get a start in the match.
From South Africa, we are going to continue to repose faith in opener Lizelle Lee. She might have been toppled for a diamond 0 in the opening encounter but her skill set means dropping her from our side would be a precarious decision. We fully expect her to rise from tat dismal showing and put on a staunch stand, one that emphasises her abilities as a batter. Mignon du Perez played out stable innings waging a lone battle while wickets tumbled at the other end she’ll be our fourth pick.
All-Rounders
Chloe Tyron was an offhand pick for us the last time around, someone we decided to get in because of our stringent budget but she paid off fortuitously for us. She was South Africa’s most pristine batter with her 43 runs the only innings of note for the side and that sees us nab up her the first time this time around. We are going in with a two facet of South Africa’s all-rounders with Marizanne Kapp’s well versed abilities with both the bat and ball seeing her come in straightaway.
From Pakistan, it’s Nida Dar who finds a place in our side. With a half-century and two wickets in the previous match she delivered one of the best performances and she’ll be staying in our side.
Bowlers
After working our way around an extremely expensive all-rounders compartment, we are left with a little tricky proposition to fill in the 4 bowlers. We’ll pick with the safest bet first of all as we rope in just the 8 credit worth pacer Tumi Sekhukhune. She got just the two overs the last time around but with a wicket we expect South Africa to deploy her more judiciously this time around.
Masabata Klass will complete our pick of 6 players from South Africa’s line-up. She delivered a deadly performance the last time around, keeping the runs stringent along with being rewarded with a wicket to her name and she should be amongst the wickets yet again.
From Pakistan, completing our team will be Aliya Riaz. She got a wicket previously and we see her getting more this time as well.
Captain And Vice-Captain
It’s South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp who’ll be our captain for the encounter with Pakistan’s Nida Dar being the vice-captain.
