After just four games into the season, Crystal Palace have decided to sack Frank de Boer as their manager.

This comes as a shock because De Boer was on the job for a mere ten weeks. It also goes to show the pressure that is on the managers these days, as the Dutchman could not even get half a season in charge.

There were a lot of expectations from De Boer, as the Dutchman was expected to take Crystal Palace to new heights. But it was not meant to be, as four defeats in four matches spelled doom for the former Dutch star.

De Boer has also become the first manager to get a sack without seeing his side score a single goal. Four consecutive defeats was the worst start in 93 years, as the Palace club decided that needed to bring about a change.

Roy Hodgson is the favourite to take up the job, as he has expressed his interest in coming back to the club where he played in the youth team. Hodgson still holds great love for Palace, as the Englishman would like to bring back the good days at the club.

Palace though wanted to bring in Sam Allardyce as their new manager. But the former England manager was not very interested, which is why Hodgson has now become the favourite for the job.
