Pep Guardiola Confirms Aguero’s Struggles To Play Ensuing Maradona’s Demise: The Manchester City manager has confirmed that the club’s striker, Aguero has taken Maradona’s passing away to heart.

Ever since news break out earlier this week of Diego Maradona’s demise at the age of 60, the world of football has been engulfed in grief. Across the global stage, people, clubs and players have come out to lend their support to the family and express their remorse at the passing away of the Argentina footballer.

Pep Guardiola Talks About Aguero’s Plight Since The News

Someone who has been severely impacted by the massive setback is Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero, the club’s manager confirmed. 

Guardiola said: ‘It’s difficult for me to talk about his feelings. The game against Olympiacos was hard. 

“Especially for his son. It’s tough, normal. He knew Maradona well and his son, it’s his grandfather.”

“There was a banner in Argentina which says, It doesn’t matter what you have done in your life, it matters what you have done in our lives. Imagine what Maradona would have done in our generation.”

“There are few incredible players in our history, he’s one of them. He was someone who made this sport better. On behalf of Manchester City a big hug for all his family,” Pep had said paying a glowing tribute to the departed giant of football.

Maradona And Aguero’s Family Relation

Maradona was Aguero’s father-in-law with the worldclass City striker married Maradona’s youngest daughter, Gianinna. Maradona who was present for the birth of their son in 2009 was also grandfather to the Manchester City striker’s 11-year-old son, Benjamin. 

Aguero had paid respect to Maradona proceeding City’s fixture against Olympiacos. He shared a picture of him and Maradona on Twitter, writing: ‘We are never going to forget you. You will always be with us.’

Aguero who has only recently recovered from a lengthy injury issue will meanwhile be looking to return to City’s Premier League playing 11 for their matchup against Burnley on Sunday. Guardiola meanwhile also confirmed that the club was looking to clear the quandary on Aguero’s contract extension at the earliest plausible.
