Kimi Raikkonen has announced his 2019 move to boyhood team Sauber and doesn’t have much to play for this season, apart from helping Ferrari beat Mercedes to the constructor’s title.

His teammate, Vettel is currently in the hunt for the WDC, trailing Hamilton by 40 points.

But it seems that Raikkonen is in no mood to play the wingman role and help Vettel win the title.

Raikkonen made it very clear that he would be doing what is best for himself, something that would in turn help the team.(when asked if he would help Vettel in his surge to win the title).

“I’m going to get the best result possible for myself and obviously doing that it’s the best that I can offer for the team.” Raikkonen said as quoted by Sky Sports.

Ferrari were nowhere close to Mercedes in FP2, but Raikkonen isn’t reading too much into it, as he admitted that Ferrari were trying multiple things.

“We did what we normally do and I don’t understand why people make such a fuss of Friday lap times,” he said.

“I guess you have nothing else to do!

“For us, it’s a very normal thing that we try things and see what happens and then do the normal work for tomorrow.

“In qualifying we’ll see if it worked or not.

“It’s not an easy place to go fast but it’s same as any track, the last tenths are the hardest to find.” he concluded.
