Rajasthan Royals Playing 11 today

Rajasthan Royals Playing 11 today: The Sportsrush presents before you RR’s Predicted Playing 11 for their seventh match of IPL 2019.

The Rajasthan Royals have possibly had the worst start they have had in their history. Only two points from the 6 games they have played have seen them struggling at the bottom of the table, being second last to only Royal Challengers Bangalore. They now meet the Mumbai Indians, who are in quite good form and are placed third on the table.

Rajasthan Royals have been rather unlucky, losing some close encounters as they did against the Chennai Super Kings when they could not defend 18 off the last over. Now the Royals travel to the Wankhede Stadium, where they would be hoping to overcome the heartbreak they had to face in Jaipur.

The last time these two sides met at the Wankhede, Royals won with two overs to spare, and they will be hoping to replicate that performance from last season.

The middle-order and the death bowling has been a major concern for the management of Rajasthan Royals, and they will be looking to overcome that against Mumbai.

Top-order

The powerplay scoring rate has been rather slow for Rajasthan Royals, however, Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler identified that and batted aggressively in the powerplay against Chennai. However, one of these two batters will have to play a long innings at a good strike rate against Mumbai.

What has been disappointing for the Royals is the inability for star batters Sanju Samson and Steve Smith to perform. If Royals are to fight against the Mumbai Indians, both Samson and Smith have to get back into form and hopefully post a strong total for a strong Mumbai Indians batting line-up.

Middle-order

Rahul Tripathi has been in decent form as of late but disappointed against CSK in the previous game. Tripathi will be hoping he can be back among the runs for Rajasthan. On the other hand, Ben Stokes despite having a night to forget, top-scored the Rajasthan Royals innings with 28 on a slow pitch. Rajasthan will be hoping Stokes can back his game and make a strong come-back.

17-year-old Riyan Parag, Shreyas Gopal and Jofra Archer will be finishing off the innings for Rajasthan, with Gopal and Archer’s hard-hitting helping the Royals over 150 in the CSK encounter. But ideally, the Royals will want a top-order batter to carry all the way and finish the batting innings on a high.

Bowlers

The bowlers did a pretty decent job for the Royals in the previous game up until the last over when Ben Stokes was smashed for 18 off the last over. Nevertheless, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni and Jofra Archer bowled brilliant in the game and they will be retaining their places.

Shreyas Gopal and Riyan Parag are all set to be leading the spin-attack for the Royals, and Rahane should be looking to use the bowlers effectively. Ben Stokes is also likely to be used in the bowling department but it is highly unlikely that Rahane will opt for him in the death overs now.
