The Royal Challengers Bangalore are off to another horrible start in this year’s IPL losing all their 4 matches so far. They would need to quickly turn things around and start winning almost every match if they want to have a realistic chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
Dinesh Karthik’s men, on the other hand, have had a good start to their season before being humbled by the Capitals in a thrilling Super Over. KKR would want to win the match today and go to the top of the points table. Russell is once again expected to play a defining role.
Yuzvendra Chahal vs Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine has taken a fancy to Chahal in the past when he had hit the leggie out of the park for many maximums. Ever since, Narine has targeted Chahal’s over to score as many runs as possible. Chahal, the current Purple Cap holder, has been having a fantastic season with the ball.
Whether Narine once again smashes him around or Chahal gets the better of the Mohawk-man will be fascinating to watch.
Virat Kohli vs Kuldeep Yadav
This will be an interesting match-up between the best batsman in the world and the best spinner in the world. Kohli, when on song, can destroy any bowler. Kuldeep can do the same to any batsman on his day. The strategies which both these players come out with to face each other would be a cricket fan’s delight to watch.
The fact that Kuldeep has openly expressed his wish of getting his Team India skipper out in the IPL makes things even more exciting. A friendly banter between India’s bests will always be fun.
Umesh Yadav vs Andre Russell
Andre Russell has been in the form of his life in the tournament scoring over 150 runs in just 3 matches. He has been brutal, destructive and a huge asset for KKR. However, Kagiso Rabada, in the previous match, managed to discover one chink in the big man’s armour. Russell struggled against pacey yorkers and one bowler who has bowl fast and with accuracy at times is Umesh Yadav.
If RCB are to mitigate the Russell risk, Umesh Yadav would need to contribute significantly. Will Russell be able to flex his muscle again? We cant wait to find out.
